Q. How do I know if I will be required to sit an English Language Test?

A. Your course provider will be able to advise if you need to sit an English test or not.

Q. How much time is taken to get an offer letter?

A. The normal processing time for Universities for a postgraduate application is approximately 4 - 6 weeks. However, it vary from a university to university - some may take less and some may take a little more time than the normal processing time. However, the undergraduate applications take much less time - some universities and colleges issue offers within three days of the receipt of application

Q. Can I include my family on my Australian student visa?

A. Yes, you will be able to include your dependent family members on your visa. Their visas will be approved for the same duration as your visa.

Q. Will I be allowed to work while I am on my student visa?

A. Yes, you can work for up to 20 hours a week.

Q. Can there be a guarantor other then parents?

A. Yes. Students' close relatives other than parents can be the guarantors for the bank loan

Q. If I book a part-time course will I be allowed to work full time?

A. Your course needs to be a full time one so that you can apply for the student visa. If your intention is to work full time and study part time you may consider applying for a Sponsorship Visa.

Q. What kind of course can I book?

A. You can book any course, as long as it’s registered with the Australian Government to organize courses for overseas students.

Q. I am in Australia, can I apply for a student visa while I am in the country?

A. Yes, you can apply form Australia, as long as your current visa does not have a “no further stay” condition.

Q. Can I travel overseas while I am in Australia on a student visa?

A. Yes. The Australian Student Visa is a multiple-entry visa which means you can leave and re-enter Australia as many times as you like during its validity.

Q. How long will my visa take to process?

A. Most student visas take approximately 2-3 weeks to process, however the timeframes vary depending on Immigration.
